Prosthodontics is the dental specialty pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes.
Under the scope of Prosthodontics, we have:
Cosmetic and Esthetic Dentistry
Tooth diastema (spacing closure), veneers, full coverage restorations, bleaching (tooth whitening), and esthetic metal free restorations.
Fixed Prosthodontics
Fixed restorations in the mouth: crowns, bridges, restorations for root canal treated tooth, overdenture abutment (anchor teeth) and restorations for caries, fractured tooth structure, tooth wear, chemical wear (erosion), loss of tooth structure from bruxism (grinding and clenching of the teeth). Also any restorations related to TMJ issues.
Implant Prosthodontics
All-on-4 prostheses, implant retained overdentures, single and multiple implant restorations: single tooth implant crown, implant supported bridge, and fixed hybrid prostheses.
Removable Prosthodontics
Conventional dentures, Partial dentures, Overdentures and Conventional Removable TMJ appliances.
